Job Purpose: 

The Head of Marketing is responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of our direct response marketing activities through digital campaigns and all social media platforms

You will drive a focus on excellence, deliver the highest level of marketing expertise and continuously seek to maximise opportunity, through strong leadership and a deep knowledge of the business, our products and our vision.

Leading a team of skilled marketers, you’ll need an imaginative, proactive, and flexible approach in weekly planning for commercial delivery. Your continuous success will be through developing yourself and mentoring the team to produce outstanding results

Working collaboratively in our senior management team, this role will develop your marketing skills beyond anything you have achieved before. It is cutting edge, disruptive, challenging and career enhancing.

 

Key Result Areas

·      Lead, manage, develop and inspire a team of the best marketing talent to be the most innovative marketing team in the UK

·      Grow the marketing department with the best national and global talent as the company scales globally

·      Hit lead generation & show up targets across multimedia platforms for both online and in person events

·      Engage and retain customers to ensure maximum attendance

·      Manage the online & offline assets to best represent co. values, maximize reach and increase sales

·      Add value to and maximizing of our databases and communities and grow those globally; & continually increase LCV & best customer/community nurturing

·      Reporting all key data & KPIs to directors in a timely fashion. analysing for growth & improvement

·      Continually learning innovative and creative marketing strategies, tactics, stories, launches and campaigns

·      Build and maintain cross-functional internal relationships e.g., Sales manager to clarify campaigns and lead source; Head of Events to understand commercial goals at events & webinars; Head of Finance for payroll, commissions and other financial information, Business Analyst to develop solid reporting structures etc.

 

Key Responsibilities – Marketing

 

Marketing Plan

Design, implement and facilitate ongoing marketing plans for all companies; to include in person and online events, social media communities, podcasts, joint ventures & affiliate management and new projects.

 

Clearly communicate marketing plans with the rest of the company ** includes Directors, Managing Director, Senior Management team, Sales and customer engagement teams, Events, Innovation and finance team

 

Campaigns

Plan and execute email marketing and/or direct mail

Run planned PPC campaigns

Maintain SEO, link building and website usability

Explore, utilise and expand social media and influencer marketing avenues and platforms

 

Affiliate and JV program

Create and implement an affiliate program

Manage JV’s activity and expectations

 

Websites

Manage the development and content of all current progressive websites including updating and integration with new technologies.

 

Database/CRM system

Execute emailing marketing to data base

Segment data base, create communication plan

Create and implement data acquisition plan

Exploit CRM system

 

Reporting

Report on the effectiveness of CPA spend for lead generation

Track sales from lead sources to accurately report campaign ROI

Ensure marketing report is completed and circulated every Monday

 

Customer Surveys

Write easily understandable customer survey questions, utilising online surveys e.g. Survey Monkey

Report and act on survey results when planning and implementing marketing campaigns

 

Budget

Manage the marketing budget in a way that gives clear ROI on all activity

 

Key Responsibilities – Team Management

Hold team talks (huddles), weekly marketing and training meetings and ad-hoc communication briefings, as well as individual performance reviews, through one to ones and annual appraisals.

Recruit and on-board new team members; including weekly meetings with new starters to ensure they are happy and working effectively.

Train, coach and mentor the team on techniques and overall business objectives, both in live scenarios and planned sessions.

Build and develop a marketing team which is competent, commercially astute, dedicated and efficient using internal and external resource

 

Minimum Standards:

·      Attend all courses as a delegate

·      Ensure deadlines are respected and followed and communicated to Managing director when not able to comply

·      Provide competent report structuring, to include the ability to understand and interpret KPI's, provide insightful commentary that can inform the direction of the business

·      Ensure that accuracy is always the driver for all marketing tasks- this must always be in line with the brand values of the company.

·      Ensure personal development, attend marketing training and actively continue to self-improve and  develop marketing (and sales) knowledge, keeping abreast of new marketing platforms, marketing media, social media and influencer marketing avenues 

·      Have a full systems document which is updated every 2 months

·      Resolve client queries within 48 hours
